Villa Lozica is located just outside Dubrovnik. A half-hour drive along a picturesque coast road takes you straight from the airport to a parking place directly above the house. Although it is only a ten-minute drive away from the city of Dubrovnik, across the spectacular bridge, Lozica is a tranquil place. The village is mostly inhabited by holiday homes. There is a restaurant, within walking distance from the house, serving or delivering good value local cuisine. Getting there and local transport Croatia Airlines flies 2-3 times a day via Zagreb or directly to major world cities. During the summer season more European companies fly there. The situation is subject to change: please enquire with your travel agent. There are daily ferries operated by Jadrolinija from Bari and Ancona (Italy) and Rijeka and Split (Croatia). Public transport in Lozica is infrequent so we would recommend hiring a car. It is also possible to organise a transfer from the airport and use taxi for your day-to-day movements. Night life is buzzing in the old city. Hundreds of bars, clubs and restaurants all have vibrant Mediterranean atmosphere. West of Lozica is Zaton bay. It has several villages with relaxed family atmosphere, restaurants and coffee shops by the sea and beautiful walks under the umbrella pines. You will find restaurant Orsan there. It is known to be one of the best sea food restaurants in Croatia, but it manages to keep easy going feel and you can have your lunch wearing beachwear. Zaton is best experienced by boat - directly from Villa Lozica. There are several islands just in front of Lozica. You can reach them either by scheduled service from Dubrovnik, or by small boat directly from the house. All the sandy beaches in the area are on islands. You should visit Villa Lovor on Kolocep with an excellent, palm trees canopied garden, restaurant in front of the quiet and protected beach. The nearest shop is in village Mokosica 2km east of the house. There are lots of small by-the-road shops all around the area. They are mostly open daily till 10pm. There is a superstore Konzum in the port. It has a large car park and a very good selection of European products and local food. Even bigger (and better value) is Getro superstore half way on the road to airport. There are two fresh produce markets. One in the port and another in the old city. They work mornings every day.
